The Art of Farm Safety

NYCAMH’s Annual Farm Safety Art Contest Opens September 21

Sept. 1, 2026 (FLY CREEK, NY) – NYCAMH’s annual Farm Safety Art Contest is back! This year’s theme is Roadway Safety Starts in Your Lane.

Students in grades 5-12 may enter artwork in either print or digital categories. First and second place prizes will be awarded to both a print and digital entry in each age range (grades 5 – 8 and grades 9 – 12). Artwork must be submitted with a completed entry form by October 30 (mail or email). Entry forms, contest guidelines, and more information are available at nycamh.org/ArtContest. Winners will be announced in December.

Roadway Safety Starts in Your Lane

In our rural communities, sharing the road with agricultural equipment is part of everyday life, especially during planting and harvest seasons. Tractors and other equipment often travel at slower speeds than normal traffic and require extra space to operate. Additional considerations should be kept in mind for recreational vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. For this contest, we encourage students to illustrate and promote safe choices on rural roadways.

Interested in an extended learning opportunity for your classroom or group? NYCAMH’s safety experts offer free education sessions centered on the contest theme, not only to teach students about roadway safety, but also to help spark their imagination.
