An important aspect of the Farm Partners program at NYCAMH is assisting farmers who have limited mobility apply for vehicle modifications for their farm equipment. Such modifications allow farmers to continue to work and safely use their equipment. However, these modifications are not very common, and the application process can be extensive and complex. Through a partnership with the Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilition (ACCES-VR), NYCAMH was able to facilitate a tractor modification for a physically disabled farmer, allowing them to continue working in a safer environment.
