In 2020, McGaig Farm, a family farm in Addison, NY, applied for and receive $2,200 from the John May Farm Safety Fund to help purchase and install a cattle chute. Bill McGaig, farmer and grant applicant, states how the received funding contributed to safety improvements on his farm, “I appreciate the farming industry and value the farming life but understand and acknowledge the safety risks that come with it.
