Alvin Leith Farm, located in North Collins, NY, was originally a dairy farm and now raises beef cattle. The owner, Alvin, was injured more than once trying to secure his cattle without a livestock chute. With the assistance of the John May Farm Safety Fund, Alvin received $3,631 in 2024 to help purchase and install the pictured chute, which helps to safely restrain his animals for care, reducing animal stress and increasing handler safety. Being able to hold the cattle in a secure area has improved Alvin’s safety on his farm.
