Bilingual Agricultural Safety Educator

Remote, Long Island

The Bilingual Agricultural Safety Educator (ASE) is an English/Spanish speaking person responsible for implementing occupational health education and safety programs for the agricultural community. The ASE will also actively participate in trade shows and outreach events, and will work with the agricultural community, legislators, educators, researchers and Bassett Healthcare Network staff to support the mission of NYCAMH.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s (four-year) degree
    •  Experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in agriculture or educational field

Experience

  • Required: two years’ experience in agriculture or related field
  • Preferred: working knowledge of farm machinery and practices

Pay Range: $25.23 – 37.85 per hour

Occupational Health Services Technician I

Shift: Days

The Occupational Health Services Technician I supports the occupational health services program (HealthWorks service delivery and firefighter/EMS evaluations) through interdisciplinary teamwork, in accordance with established protocols. Provides clinical services to employees, firefighters, and EMS personnel needed to address occupational health concerns. Provides a variety of occupational health services for regional businesses and fire departments. Assures the quality of off-site health screening services for work sites and other community sites. Collects and maintains confidential reports and files and provides data requested by the Manager, NYCAMH Ag Group, and NYCAMH Director. Applies proven educational techniques to provide counseling and to communicate health risks in a culturally sensitive manner for health screening participants.

Education

  • Preferred: high school or GED

  • Required: training to acquire expertise in clinical skills, techniques, and systems aimed at enhancing the health and safety of employees, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel

Pay Range: $18.75 – 28.12 per hour
