Vital Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Safety and Health Program Targeted for Termination! - March 14, 2012

Farming, forestry and fishing are the three most dangerous jobs in the U.S.. Each year, roughly 600 individuals in these industries die trying to earn a living.

For over a decade, regional NIOSH Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Health and Safety Research Centers have worked together with local communities to develop non-regulatory solutions to these hazards.

Despite the program's significantly positive impact in these industries it has been targeted for termination in the President's 2013 budget, a prospect one agriculture, forestry and fishing worker called "criminal".
